When I’m at a Halfprice Bookstore, I usually check out the foreign children’s book section. None really captured my heart today, but while flipping through this one I found something interesting.
A Russian newspaper and two certificates for completing and refreshing Russian language course presented by the US Army. [Inside Cover]
A clipping in English about a kickboxing fight between World Champion, Don Wilson and German Champ, Ferdinand Mack. This is dated back March 18, 1989. [Between pages ]
Another Russian newspaper. [Back Cover]
How did these end up in this book? Did the soldier really use a children’s book to brush up on his Russian? Maybe it was suppose to be a sweet gift or a gag gift?
What’s your theory?
