This year’s theme is South Pacific, which will be playing from March 9-21. Last year’s theme was Legally Blonde. It was my first time attending this event and I was under-dressed. I went casual formal, should have gone with the slacks when I was deciding this morning.
I didn’t mingle, it seemed everyone knew each other. And it wasn’t a typical fashion show; no models, no runway. It was a charity event and the Leading Ladies adorned the dresses. I heard designer Elaine Turner was going to show up and talk, but I didn’t stick around. I felt out of place, especially since I attended alone and the crowd wasn’t large enough for me to get lost in.
I was given a $25 gift card upon signing in at the door, which I didn’t spend. It’s definitely out of my price range, but there was a certain Elaine Turner handbag that spoke to me. If anybody shops at Tootsies and like a gift card, leave me a comment. I doubt I’ll use it. The few items that was affordable are the colored T-shirts & Spanx.
Note: (1)The brunch bites were delish, of course since it was catered by Phoenicia Specialty Foods. I’ve met the owners from my previous job and use to lunch there a lot. (2) My first dog’s name was Tootsie, but I spelled it Tootshie for the longest time. My dad brought her home and she was named already. Beautiful dog, Cocker Spaniel mix looked just like Lady from “Lady and the Tramp“. I added the “H” to her name, cause Asian parents can’t seem to pronounce the “S” without coming out as “SH”.
