I left work on time to make it to the preview of Man on the Ledge, but The Boyfriend called and cancelled. So I went to FIT instead, needed to buy something to store my Bundle Monster Plates. I did find what I needed, but also picked up some hair accessories =P

A little sad that someone purchased the last crochet strawberry ponytail holder. I had them in my hand, but I put them back. I wanted to look at everything before I decide what I want. I’m pretty sure I made the employees nervous, because my basket was empty until the end. That’s how I shop (most of the time). So hopefully they will restock it.

Today, The Boyfriend and I attended the 4th Annual Ice Sculpting Competition at Discovery Green. The shark and clown fish was my favorite. But before we got here, the warm day started with…

Lunch at MKT Bar inside Phoenicia Specialty Foods.

After we ate, we walked around the supermarket. It’s our first time at this location (downtown). Phoenicia always have beautiful kitchen ware & tea sets. I always have to go down those aisles.

I found something to add to my wishlist; herb pot from the Project series by Pascal Charmolu. I thought I could find it cheaper online, but unfortunately I can’t find any U.S. online shop that sold it. So I might pick it up the next time I’m there.

Then we walked over to Discovery Green to watch the competition. As the day went, it got warmer and Boyfriend was removing his jacket and I, my scarf. Boyfriend was feeling weary, so we left before they announce the winner. On the way back to the car, we got desserts.

The Boyfriend got an Italian Creme cupcake from a food truck. I didn’t catch the name, but Boyfriend said it was mediocre. I had a Spiderman Popsicle. I can’t remember the last time I bought one from a ice cream truck. It was perfect =)

At Work: One of our vendors stopped by to drop off her business cards and also a Pastry Ring (cheese, cherry, & apple danishes but shaped like a pizza) from Panera Bread.

Me: Aww, if you take two slices, it’s shaped like a heart.
Co-worker: If you take three, it’s a beautiful fan!!!

(Ok, so maybe you had to be there to find it funny)

Dinnertime: The Boyfriend and I went to try this new buffet place, Hibachi Grill and Buffet. I’m about to get out of the car when my phone starts ringing.

Me: Hi, Mom.
Mom: Oh Hi… I called your sister and (I don’t understand what she was saying)…my computer is broken again so I can’t get on the internet. I called your sister and I asked her to look up but (Again I’m not understanding this part). We’re going to eat buffet for (……………). I already know the prices, but I want to know what kind of food do they have there. Could you look up for me?
Me: Sure but..
Mom: It’s spelled…
Me: Mom..
Mom: “C” like cat…
Me: Mom, Mom! I’m not home right now.
Mom: Huh?
Me: I’m not at home, I’m out (outside) can I call you after dinner when I get home?
Mom: Ohhh, you’re not home? Okay, call me when you get home then.

After dinner and back at home.

Me: Hello Mom? I’m home now, so how do you spell the name of the place?
Mom: Ok..H-I-B-A-C like cat -H-I, next word Grill like you grill food. And Buffet.

Chick-fil-A came out with the new Chicken Tortilla Soup. It’s thick and tasted ok, didn’t care too much for it. The tortilla strips seemed like strips of potato chips to me. I don’t think I’ll be ordering that again.

So far this whole week has been pretty weird. Just a string of me and the odds. I woke up thankful this morning glad the work week was over, so that I can get a reboot this weekend and start next week on the right foot. Only that today is Thursday!!! Doh!!!

*Sigh* Just one more day <( ~____~**)>

Two of my friends have been telling me how great audiobooks are and that I should try it. They think I would enjoy it, since I love books. Honestly, the idea never really appealed to me, but before I can shun it away I need to at least try it first. This was months ago, or even a year ago when I looked into it. The prices for audiobooks in the form of cds are pretty expensive and still not cheap enough for me at Half Price Bookstore. And what do I do if I don’t like it? I don’t want it to be sitting on my shelf taking up my precious space.

In mid of last month, I was looking through the public library’s (Yes, I have a library card and I still use it–it’s actually pretty worn out) catalogue via internet and found out that you can check out e-audiobooks. I was pretty ecstatic, it’s free!!! It’s a good thing too, because there is a waiting list for the hard copy and the e-book for what I wanted to borrow. Well the e-audiobook also had a waiting list, but it was much shorter. I put all three formats on hold to better my chances of borrowing the book earlier.

So last night my e-audiobook was available. I downloaded it onto my netbook and then transferred it to my iPhone. Today, I got to listen to 6 minutes of it during lunch before I headed back to my office. I will give my opinion after 2-3 chapters. That’s the amount I give to see if the book I’m reading grabs me or not. In the meantime check out this space-saving architectural design for a bookcase. I love it!! I won’t mind having something like that, if I can’t have a room designated just for books.

–Reflecting on 2011–
2011 was an okay year for me. More confusion than anything in the Fall, so I was really looking forward to the end of the year. The highlight of 2011 is the welcoming of the new addition to the family, my adorable niece.

–Prospective 2012–
I’m hoping this year will bring me some clarity. I feel that I may be getting closer to finishing a chapter in my life and ready to move on to the next.

–New Year’s Resolution–

• Talk Less: I have verbal diarrhea. Sometimes words, tone, expression all come out wrong when I speak. I need to pause think about it and then proceed or just don’t speak at all.
• Talk More: I am terribly shy around people I don’t know. After making small talk, I would tense up (yeah, looking pretty awkward and probably uninterested to the person I’m speaking with).
• Spend more time with my nephews & niece.
• Take a vacation. If not out-of-state, then at least another city. I think my mind & soul has been aching for this.
• Cook more, I’ve stopped cooking for a very long time and I need to get back to it.

The Boyfriend and I met up with a group of friends at RA Sushi at Town and Country City Centre for the New Year’s Eve Party. (M.MC, M.AT, M.ARu, Mme.YD, & M.ARa)

It was pretty crowded; guys in suits or semi-formal and lots of girls in dresses. I wished I had worn one, but I didn’t want to wear any of the dresses I owned. Instead I wore the Christmas present I received from my sister and brother-in-law, a teal v-neck sweater.

The food was delicious and after trying M.ARu’s Blushing Geisha, I ordered one too. I don’t usually drink, but decided to this evening. I was around good company and enjoying myself. After we were done eating, we started to play “I Never”. It’s the first time I’ve played.

The rest of the evening we stood in a line just because we saw people in a line. Well we also saw that there was a backdrop with lighting umbrellas and a photographer. I was hoping we could get a group photo, since my camera was low on batteries. It turned out to be a grand opening of a club. So yeah we left and ran into Mme.LN and then Mme.SH on the outdoor dance floor. It was super crowded there, so we went back to where we were earlier; the balcony in front of Urban Outfitter (between RA and the new club).

Mme.J met up with us. I don’t really know her, but she seems really nice. She had a working camera so we took pictures. We waited there until the fireworks started. I wish the City Centre did a count down.
